Pontus-X Ecosystem Participant Registry
The Registry of all Pontus-X ecosystem participants keeps track of the onboarded and identified legal persons that are able to use the Pontus-X ecosystem. It summarizes and makes available the participants' information provided in the form of Gaia-X Participant Credentials that have been either collected by the Pontus-X ecosystem orchestrators or made available by the participants.
Within the Pontus-X ecosystem, participants are primarily identified through their public addresses and the associated Gaia-X Participant Credentials. Besides this Pontus-X Registry, this information is also used on the application layer of the ecosystem in

Ecosystem Participants
The Pontus-X Ecosystem Registry data is based on the dynamically updated and distributed source of truth loaded from the underlying smart contracts via a cached REST API. This results in an open identity registry system, based on the Gaia-X Framework with multiple onboarding service providers and orchestrators, removing a central point of failure and control.

Registry 1.0 (Deprecated)
The initial Pontus-X ecosystem registry 1.0 relied on static data which was manually maintained by community members and within the codebase of ecosystem services. This version of the registry has been deprecated in favor of an automated, decentralized and scalable approach.
